Luxury Apartment at Lakeside Garden
This is a delightful spot next to the sea where you can swim off the beach - well landscaped with gazebos and sunloungers (see pictures). It has a bar & restaurant facilities. To get there take the road beyond the Sunset cafe. Go on through the gates of Filiz Golden Shine. There is parking on site.
Definitely OUR FAVOURITE
Basko Plaj
This is a nice beach in a sheltered cove with sunbeds, toilets, changing facilities and floating pontoon. It has a cafe and bar. Take the road going right on the bend prior to the Sunset Market / Cafe and follow it down you will see a turning on the left at the MAYA KOYU sign to Basko Tatler Sitesi, follow this road until you see another sign directing you to Basko Plaj-Bar. Park above the beach and walk down a short flight of steps.
Artev Private Beach
All users of Lakeside, Turquoise, Flamingo and Royal Heights can use the facilities here. This is a beach in a bay with a large restaurant, bar and sunloungers on a very large pier/sundeck which projects into the sea. There is a courtesy bus from Lakeside, which runs at varying times according to the season. The Beach Club is located off to the right at the small roundabout before you get to the Sunset Market / Cafe and below the Royal Heights complex.
Others around the Bodrum peninsula
All the other resorts around the Bodrum peninsula have their own beaches. Our favourites are either
- Yalikavak - main seafront has a narrow beach . Across the bay outside the town are Xuma beach and Dodo beach - these last two are both small quiet beaches run by the local authority.
- Turgutreis (Camel beach) - very large and pleasant with cafes/bars on the sand with wide beach and shallow water. Ideal for children. Dolmus goes there from the Bodrum bus station. It is named Camel beach for a good reason.
- Bitez - very commercialised beach with a myriad of restaurants and bars - sandy beach.
- Gulluk - quiet bays to the right of the town (as you look at the sea).
Parking at all these sites is very easy - on site or within 100 yards or so.
The most common question we get asked is "how near is it to the beach?". Well, here are some answers
Locally there are three good beaches - all of them different - try all of them to find your favourite
